Dedicated to the memory of Norma Grainger

Norma Elsie Grainger passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday 15th April 2024, at the Beaufort Care Home on Kenilworth Road, aged 83.

She was born in Coventry on October 2nd 1940. In the 1960’s, she worked on the checkout at the Co-Operative, where she met her beloved husband Mick, who worked as lorry driver. Together they welcomed twin daughters, Debbie and Kaye, on November 8th, 1968. Norma and Mick were married soon after on December 26th 1972.

Norma's faith has been a constant source of strength and guidance throughout her life, and she found a sense of belonging within the walls of Queen's Road Baptist Church. The church was more than just a place of worship for Norma – it was a vibrant community where she forged lasting friendships and felt truly at home.

She also found a lot of joy in her creative projects. Whether she was crafting handmade cards, knitting cosy scarves, or sewing beautiful pieces, she always put a lot of effort into everything she did. Photography was another passion of hers, and she loved taking photos of her family.

Norma is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband Mick, and daughter Kaye. Norma leaves behind her other daughter Debbie, as well as her two grandchildren, Chloe and Noah. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Norma’s life will be held on Thursday 16th May at 1pm, at Queen’s Road Baptist Church in Coventry, led by Sarah Harrison. Donations are welcome to Cancer Research UK in Norma’s memory.
